I think both Eh and Lindogo are accessible (and maybe somewhat forgotten) gems:

dunno if it falls into the category, but c-schulz + hajsch's self-titled album is very well-realized/wholesome/accessible

I would have to agree with the Schnee recordings. They were my favorite amongst the EAI music I heard when just starting to get into EAI. I took a leap of faith having not heard a single EAI recording and went to the Erstquake fest in NYC in 2006 and absolutely loved it. Upset I had to miss this year's Amplify tho.

and on my i-pod this morning (and sadly only available on the Amplify 02 box set): Günter Müller & Toshimaru Nakamura, 'Tint'
someone really should reissue this as a stand alone release - imho of course
plus sonat quam valet - seneca

you have always said that, then I have always told people it's available, and I have probably sold less than 5 individual copies of it in the 8 years it's been out. :D

"tint" came to mind too - it has a bunch of short, rhythmic, propulsive tracks. a lot of muller's work is similar - i find the duo with sugimoto too pretty and bland, but it's certainly very "nice."

That Müller/Sugimoto I am Happy If You Are Happy, is actually a great intro because of how pretty it is. A non-eai friend of mine liked that one after reading about it in the Wire. SSSD (Siewert/Stangl/Sugimoto/Dafeldecker) is also a good one in the Opposite vein. That stuff might sound overly pretty to those who have heard all the stuff since then, but I wonder if they wouldn't sound just as good to fresh ears.

Some of Otomo's albums could make good crossovers too, I can't think of what exactly right now. The Tzadik Anode compositions was what I first heard him on. Maybe even his jazz stuff, soundtrack work, or guitar solos could be pointers from various directions, they often contain electroacoustic elements or aspects. Another early favorite of mine was his long guitar/percussion/turntable "Blue Kite" from the IMJ box.

Tilbury & Schmickler's Variety, maybe? One of my favorites.

I love the latter ("Lidingö"), but I dunno about accessible. I think you're confusing "definitive" with "accessible".
