Beautiful set of early(-ish) King Tubby deconstructions I found on the ever wonderful Holy Warbles blog. There's a cheap re-issued LP too on Pressure Sounds too, sweet!
What happened to Holy Warbles? It appears to have been deleted.

I completely overlooked this until yesterday. It's such a beautiful record.

Impressive techno synth pop from this duo.

I almost forgot how I love that opened-window track.
Any updates on the Celadon release?
Kevin Parks is working on mixing this, so we're hoping for sometime between now and 2034. But what's the rush? It's only been in the can since 2007...

Merci! Always wondered what this particular instance of censorship was about, considering that the rest isn't that much less objectionable.

Scarlet Scamper (split-CD with a guy whose music I'm not so much interested in)

This is a singer who's part of the german Knertz-collective. Looks like this CD is done in an extremely low-profile manner (like... burnt on demand with handmade cover). It's a collection of trashy, fragile, nevertheless catchy-as-hell offroad-popsongs (which in my way of hearing here and there share some ground with early Residents, Skeleton Crew, Der Plan, also Amanda Palmer in her most deranged moments). Another typical feature is an open song structure, a "serial" string of song segments. One of the most beautiful and inventive things I heard in quite some time!

Digging through the boards I see this made the bulk of 2010 favourites... easy to hear why. I'm a bit of a latecomer to SOFA, but picked it up last night (along with Streifenjunko's 'No Longer Burning'; will get to this one very soon) after an incredible solo-performance by Eivind Lønning in Göteborg - full range of techniques and sounds on display that never once lost the sense of total-engagement. Excellent narrative arc also, despite what I understand was some trepidation on his part at having never (or at least rarely) played a solo concert. Birgit Uhler didn't fail to impress in her first trip this far north also.

yeah I really enjoy that album. I'm very, very big on SOFA right now. I've found their releases very enjoyable and extremely well produced. some thrill me more, and other less but whatever that is the way of buying records.
