Played last night: Masta Killa - Made in Brooklyn

Not quite the work of a Masta on this one. He's got better albums that I have heard before.

DJ Sprinkles - Midtown 120 Blues

Wow! Sublime HOUSE with endless depth. This would have easily topped whatever 2009 list I cared to make had it of been discovered then.

this album hits all the right spots for me.
what i also find interesting about this group is that it kind of plays more like a jazz band in that a player takes a lead solo while the rest are providing a sort of rhythm section (albeit with odd instrumentation). there doesn't seem to be a single leader as they all eventually take a turn in soloing.

this is also great.

Akiyama can do no wrong. and it's been like that with most of his output.

Good one, adding Bhob Rainey to the crew.
This tour came to Minneapolis; that was the fall of 2001, people needed good music.
