Re: what are you listening to? a second wave
Grateful Dead wembley 30/11/90 disc 2
trying to think if this was the night I first saw them or the night before i first saw them.
they played 3 nights & I went to 2.
this is being torrented on Tradersden & is 11Gb
Sounds pretty great though I've been on the computer & not watching it.
Think video may be a bit grainy

Keith Rowe's Erstlive 007
Can't find words to say how much I like this. On third listen, one after an other.

Like it a lot. Restrained but also full of clatter like activity, with small explosive bursts. Nice packaging and funny titles add some value to the end result. First cd that I buy from this trio, but nice enough to make me curious about the other titles.

With Schleiermacher being a renowned piano interpret in a musical field I mostly enjoy a lot, I probably had too high expectations... that CD kinda disappointed me.J.F. wrote:przesyt wrote:Schleiermacher - Gesang des Apsyrtos / Zeremonie / Klavierstück 1990 / Musik für Pauken und Orchester
The outstanding Schleiermacher-piece of those I heard for me is "Stille und Klang", a 23minute orchestral composition to be found on a (cheap) sampler compiled by the Deutscher Musikrat.
I did heard that piece and must say i wasn't impressed really. His compositions on that Wergo cd like 'Zeremonie' or 'Gesang des Apsyrtos' are stronger and more interesting in my opinion (especially 'Zeremonie' which is absolutely brilliant)
