second for Gasps & Fissures. awesome one. i also really like the ekg/ielasi collab on formed. major kinda chamber-music vibe; i think it was semi-composed and then the recorded pieces were definitely assembled in a studio (from live performances).oldirtybastien wrote:Which one(s) would you recommend Dan?Dan Warburton wrote:One of my favourite musicians (as you can probably see below).

just had to step over this since my copy's lying on the floor on the other side of the room. It was the last lp by them that was still in print for ages but I think it's due to get rereleased by the label Josh set up isn't it?Salty Swift wrote:

I've been blasting this record from my car stereo for the last few days.....windows rolled down, wind in my hair, chicks digging the music....no wait, that was just a dreamStevo wrote:just had to step over this since my copy's lying on the floor on the other side of the room. Any idea what label re-issued this? Any extra tracks there worth hearing?
One of my favourites of their's is an Italian bootleg

Picked it up for next to nothing when HMV around these parts had a crapload of stuff they needed to get rid of...

Quam, have you heard this? I have a cumbia mix from you in my collection with a Los Mirlos track (They're Chicha and are blazing)--some real good stuff on here.

so is Wane - Bruckmann/Hauf/Dafeldecker (on guitar)
2 of the first eai discs i bought, and indeed all 9 formed discs are very good.
now playing:

Domenico Sciajno | Gene Coleman - Diospyros
great sax/electronics duo reminiscent of the big misunderstanding between Hz and MHz (butcher/kurzman).
Re: Now playing

played the Marion Brown quartet a few times earlier to get over the disappointment of the 1-1 draw of the greeks in israel.
interesting how some free jazz can sort out the nerves.
(btw, one of the best games i watched lately though, thriller end to end stuff).
Re: Now playing
Few things I dislike more than the sea and cake.
I'm listening to the cafe stereo playing that Korean versions of 70's AOR stuff...Carly Simon, James Taylor...that kinda stuff. Pretty awesome, especially when there's a hard to pronounce word.

You, of all people, should understand
Re: Now playing

I've been listening to this disc quite a bit. My only criticism is that it's too short!

Omar Sosa - Across the Divide: A Tale of Rhythm & Ancestry
Re: Now playing
love this record (and his other solo). joe, even if you hate the sea and cake, these have the killer rhythm section of josh abrams and chad taylor. hard to beat chad taylor. plus rob mazurek, and jim o'rourke production on the above disc.Yii wrote:
