"ain't no woman like the one i've got"

just that line over and fucking over again since it kind of degenerates into mumbles right after

"You were not alone in sanctus sound
As bells shaft spires into liquid dogs
and cats curl and arch into kittens again...."

Current 93 - Bind Your Tortoise Mouth

fuck knows what it means, but it appeals to me deeply.
"I would not talk, like Cornets-
I'd rather be the One
Raised softly to the Ceilings-
And out, and easy on-
Through Villages Of Ether..."

walk it out like a usher
if ya say real talk, i probly won't trust ya
if ya want to go to war, the gun's my pleasure
even jesus had 12 disciples on the lever
trigga
whateva
pimp, you don't want naw-dega three-thou
i'm like jury duty - you're new to this part of town
your white tee, well to me, looks like a nightgown
make your mama proud - take that thang 2 sizes down
then you'll look like the man that you are
or what ya could be
i can give a damn 'bout your car
but then i would be
if it was considered a classic before the drastic change
in production, when cars were metal instead of plastic
value
is what i'm talkin 'bout
take 2 of these and walk it out
you'll be the reason they chalk it out
you can't be the king of the parkin lot forever
not sayin i'm the best
but 'til they find somethin' better
i am here, no fear, write me a letter

Andre 3000's verse on the remix to "Walk It Out."

Kind of amazing. Between his cadence and the beat, this has been stuck in my head at least once per day for the last week. I know it's not cool to like Outkast anymore, but Andre's lyrics and flow are miles above anyone else in pop/rap right now. Outkast = the Beatles of our generation (albeit on a smaller scale).

Cocaine cannot kill my pain
Cocaine cannot kill my pain
Cocaine cannot kill my pain
Like a freight train runnin through my vein
Cocaine cannot kill my pain

Whiskey got no hold on me
Whiskey got no hold on me
Whiskey got no hold on me
Left them chains in Tennessee
Whiskey got no hold on me

Don't come knockin' on my door
Girl don't come knockin' on my door
Don't come knockin' on my door
Even that won't work no more
Don't come knockin' on my door

Cause heroin is the only thing
Heroin is the only thing
Heroin is the only thing
The only gift the darkness brings
Heroin is the only thing

Guess you'd best leave me alone
Guess you'd best leave me alone
Guess you'd best leave me alone
At least until these blues have gone
Guess you'd best leave me alone

today on the radio i heard an extremely catchy song, sorta folky with accordeon, sung by a girl.

what can i do
will there always be you
i hope and i pray
you'll leave me one day

that's it. stuck in my head for the last 12 hours.
I was going to be a neo-deconstructivist but mom wouldn't let me.

had these lines in my head for like six months:

Bad news, bad news, come to me where i sleep,
Turn, turn, turn again.
Sayin', "One of your friends is in trouble deep."
Turn, turn, to the rain and the wind.

I've infected my kids in the car on the way to daycare most mornings with these lyrics and they're quick on the draw.
Before the song is over, they're already singing the chorus.

Bill Pritchard "H?las"
["J'ais ne mois de tois, H?las" - ok, so my grade school french is rusty]

Robyn Hitchcock "Balloon Man"
["I was walking up Sixth Avenue when Balloon Man came right up to me
He was round and fat and spherical with the biggest grin I'd ever seen
He bounced on up toward me but before we could be introduced
He blew up very suddenly, I guess his name was probably Bruce

And I laughed like I always do
And I cried like I cried for you
And Balloon Man blew up in my hand"

Etienne Daho "Au Commencement"
[tout n'est que recommencement
depuis que le monde est monde
avec toi je veux tout reprendre
? z?ro depuis le d?but
avec toi r?apprendre
partir sur des bases nouvelles
au diable le bien et le mal
et les sermons artificiels
avec toi je suis vraiment moi
absolument moi
depuis la premi?re seconde
c'est la magie absolue
je n'attendais vraiment plus personne
j'?tais tout seul j'?tais perdu
l'amour que tu me portes
est incroyablement bon
je me sens mieux , je me sens fort
je n'ai m?me plus peur de la mort
avec moi tu es vraiment toi
absolument toi
j'entends ton signal silencieux
m?me en pleine nuit."]

"you can feed me apples,
oranges and plums,
you can even wash my face,
but don't you push me down.

don't you push me, push me, push me,
don't you push me down.
don't you push me, push me, push me,
don't you push me down."

Take me out tonight
Where there's music and there's people
And they're young and alive
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one
Anymore

Take me out tonight
Because I want to see people and I
Want to see life
Driving in your car
Oh, please don't drop me home
Because it's not my home, it's their
Home, and I'm welcome no more

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure - the privilege is mine

Take me out tonight
Take me anywhere, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care
And in the darkened underpass
I thought: Oh God, my chance has come at last
(But then a strange fear gripped me and I
Just couldn't ask)

Take me out tonight
Oh, take me anywhere, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one, da ...
Oh, I haven't got one

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure - the privilege is mine

Oh, There is a light and it never goes out
There is a light and it never goes out
There is a light and it never goes out
There is a light and it never goes out
There is a light and it never goes out
There is a light and it never goes out
There is a light and it never goes out
There is a light and it never goes out
There is a light and it never goes out

yes, it's a classic.
No work tomorrow to work today.

Everybody knows that our cities were built to be destroyed
Everybody knows that our cities were built to be destroyed

You get annoyed, you buy a flat, you hide behind the mat

But I know she was born to do everything wrong with all of that
But I know she was born to do everything wrong with all of that

Maria Beth?nia, please send me a letter

I wish to know things are getting better

Better, better, Beta, Beta, Beth?nia

Please send me a letter

I wish to know things, are getting better...

She has given her soul to the devil but the devil gave his soul to God
She has given her soul to the devil but the devil gave his soul to God

Before the flood, after the blood, before you can see

She has given her soul to the devil and bought a flat by the sea
She has given her soul to the devil and bought a flat by the sea

Maria Beth?nia, please send me a letter

I wish to know things are getting better

Better, better, Beta, Beta, Beth?nia

Please send me a letter

I wish to know things, are getting better...

the track before that is my favorite

These fuckin' maricons on the couch watchin' Sanford and Son
Passin' they rum, fried plantains and rice
Big round onions on a T-bone steak, my stomach growling yo I want some
Hold on, somebody's comin', get behind me, knock at the door,
Act like you stickin' me up, put the joint to my face
Push me in quickly when the bitch open up
Remember you don't know me, blast him if he reach for his gun
Yo who goes there? Tony, Tony one second homie
No matter rain, sleet or snow you know you 'posed to phone me
Off came the latch, Frank pushed me into the door
The door flew open, dude had his mouth open
Frozen, stood still with his heat bulgin'
Told him Freeze! lay the fuck down and enjoy the moment
Frank snatched his gat, slapped him, axed him
Where's the cash, coke and the crack? Get the smoke and you fast
His wife stood up speakin' in Spanish, big tittie bitch holdin' the cannon
Ran in the kitchen, threw a shot, then kicking the four fifth
Broke a bone in her wrist and she dropped the heat
Give up the coke! But the bitch wouldn't listen
I'm on the floor like HOLY SHIT Watchin my man Frank get busy
He zoned out, finished off my man's wiz
He let the pitbull out, big head Bruno with the little shark's teeth chargin'
Foamin' out the mouth, I'm scared
Frank screamin', blowin' shots in the air
Missin' his target, off the Frigidare, it grazed my ear
