Re: AMPLIFY 2008: light
Does Yuko ever find herself in front of a/the camera?
Re: AMPLIFY 2008: light
heh, well, this time she was not only shooting the fest but doing the bulk of running it, and she's generally not too into being photographed. however, upon request, here's one she does like, from Harajuku a few days after the fest ended, she's the pink one:

Re: AMPLIFY 2008: light
Well, I can only credit Yuko's reticence to modesty.
Thanks for the pic!

I mean a new one. That one was taken about one year ago, when I still was almost a baby. That's been ages ago.Cornelis wrote:What!J.F. wrote: Hehe, who ever tells me will have pmed one pic of mine in return! (if requested)

Re: AMPLIFY 2008: light
Good to see another take on the festival (though I did discuss each night with mark at the uchiage, so not entirely new to me) and very well done Mark.Dan Warburton wrote:http://www.paristransatlantic.com/magaz ... ext.html#2
However I have to ask, what is the deal with PT never linking to anything? even at the end where Dan adds this comment:
Would it kill you to actually link to those photos? The denial of the web as a medium is one of the most irksome aspects of PT.Dan Warburton wrote:Thanks to Yuko Zama for permission to use her photographs, though they look a darn site better over at her flickr site unsullied by PhotoShop - DW

Re: AMPLIFY 2008: light
if that was your audience for this piece, why did you even bother commissioning it? why not just let Mark write his recap on IHM? I thought the point was that different people would see it on PT as opposed to IHM.Dan Warburton wrote:In this case I assumed that most of the 150 people had already seen them here, and that those that hadn't could find them easily if they wanted to.

Re: AMPLIFY 2008: light
first off, i'd like to say i appreciate PT very much and i think it's a great service to the people interested in this area of music.
that said, robert is right. the lack of links to the content you reference is an annoyance to at least a large chunk of PT's users. why? because most other sites users view will have all the options PT lacks. not that you can be expected to implement all of them, but there are a few that are nearly required in this day and age.
- all referenceable content (within reason) should be linked (eg if you mention a record, the name of the record should be a link to info about that record)
- most if not all images should link to a larger size and if they are part of a series the, series "set" should be linked
- while you're at it, i'd take the "bold" off of the body text. it makes the artiles difficult to read, and unneccesarilly long.
please don't take this personally, i work in this field, and what i detail above is pretty important and would be a big improvement if implemented.
