Had a chance to catch her in a great duo with Roscoe Mitchell a few years back in a old church....the woman hasn't lost her touch one bit.

hypnotic underworld is wonderful. It's queer that it's so so different from their latest release. I also heard their first album was good.

I've also got a shitty copy of the new Bjork album, the sound quality sucks, so I'm waiting for a better copy.

I've also been listening to some C-Pop lately, especially Jay Chou. He did a fine song for the Jet Li movie Fearless

which I admittedly like very much after seeing the awesome video of it on youtube.

I've also been watching a bunch of radiohead videos from the ok computer kid a and amnesiac phases which surprisingly I"ve never seen before even when I was way into radiohead in h.s!

I'm also waiting for my big batch from mimaroglu. I ordered 12 Masayuki Takayanagi CDs haha! I really love the album Eclipse and all of his stuff really.

the new GHQ is good, though it gets kind of repetative, I have it on vinyl, though I think there's something messed up about my purchase with three lobed, I'm not sure the payment went through or something

I have a strange copy of a radiohead cd, with a bunch of new songs, all recorded live, that one group, I forget what they're called, claims to be what their new album would sound like. it's really good.

I've also been listening to the AMPLIFY 2002 box set from erstwhile, and some random MV/EE stuff. Oh, and I had the new dinosaur jr album before it was released, and thought highly of it, though now I think it's a bit depressing for me. my iTunes recognizes as a Blues album. heh.

It was the first album of theirs that I heard, but the latest is the first I've bought. I'm gonna continue grabbing more and more albums, maybe even go backwards in their discography and see how they've changed, but from the other way around!

I'm worried that I won't like the material where Michio Kurihara is absent. I really love his work on Hypnotic.

After finally picking up another copy of Alien Bog a couple weeks ago (lost my orginal ages ago) I've been poking around her "Software for people" book a lot recently.
Such a great composer.

Anyone heard her one-sided picture disc on table of the elements? it's nuts scratchy and tweaky.

Yeah - I've got that one, along with another 5 or 6 of the Lathandies series, or whatever it was called.
Worth the money if only for the gorgeous etching on the second [non-playable] side.
My personal favourite from that series is Fahey and San Agustin.

I've loved this guy forever....I'm only watching this DVD for the first time but I'm madly in love already.
My love for Gil started sometime in the 80's, when I was introduced to his stuff by a DJ on a college radio station [who usually played hardcore]. I've seen Gil live more than anyone else [a dozen time? maybe more?] and I regret the fact that he no longer tours.

Anyone know what happened to him?
When I talked to him last time sometime in the early 90's, he was all excited about old Arista stuff getting re-issued, but since then there's utter silence. We're still waiting for re-issues of potent Arista stuff from early 80's.....

yeah i have that one. the etching got glued to the plastic envelope, and of course, like all picture LPs it has more surface noise than any normal LPs i have, at least new ones (and many older ones, too), because these lousy envelopes are obviously not enough to protect them. and then they don't look any better than normal cardpoard envelopes. i mean, what does is matter if the art is on LP itself or the package? i'll take jessica rylan's "new secret" as an exception, and even that i'd much prefer in regular packaging. in short, i hate picture LPs. people should stop putting them out.
