They're pretty good, I guess.
I've never known anyone else who used these.

They look cool, sort of : ) Yours are the white half-eggs on black?

i bought a pair of sony mdr-cd3000 headphones when one of the local audiophile stores went out of business this year. they're by far the best headphones i've ever owned and for the $225 i paid compared to the normal $500 pricetag i actually consider it a bargain somehow.

i have those same headphones and don't think they are all they were made out to be. they bite into my ears sometimes.

do any of you get nervous walking around town with high-end headphones? i get the occasional once-over when i'm walking around on certain streets. sucks.

I don't really walk around with my high-ends. But the ER-4Ps are ugly enough that I don't think anyone would think to steal them--they actually look like the first pair of ultra-shitty earbuds I remember seeing in the early 90s, with the red/blue coding for right/left. : )

I'm hoping the E2c's look like hearing aids.

i'm usually way too paranoid to even take them out of the house.

these were actually the ones i broke. they sounded fine.. and were portable, albeit little uncomfortable to wear.

i'm considering simply buying another pair.

Anyone have any recommendations for sound-cancelling headphones?

I have Grado SR80s and love them.
It's too bad I can't listen outside of my room without annoying others, though.

Yeah, the in ear headphones actually cause me a great deal of pain after extended use (not bc of loud volumes so much as it just rubs against my oh-so-delicate ears). So I haven't gone near 'em in years. I've been using these Sennheiser HD 280s for awhile now and the sound quality is very good for a pretty affordable price. They're also very comfortable too - the only setback is that you can't exactly hear people yelling at you while you're wearing them.
