Dear IHM Community!
Forgive me for this mass appeal, but I want to be able to spread the word far and wide about a project that's really important to me right now. Last summer my electronic music organization, TECHNE http://techneaudio.org brought their DIY electronic building and improvised music workshops to over a hundred young women at Girls Rock Camps in Oakland, Sacramento, Portland and Seattle, and they were a huge success! We had girls building contact mics and making their own instruments.
This year we’re continuing our Girls Rock partnership with an ambitious eight city tour including Philly, New Orleans, Charleston, DC, Nashville and more. In addition, we'll be co-curating a concert in each city, featuring founders Bonnie Jones & Suzanne Thorpe in duet, and fellow local female artists.
TECHNE's workshops want to radically change the future of electronic music, art and technology. We want to inspire young women to experiment, take risks, and above all feel as though they can and they will make meaningful contributions in electronic arts.
To accomplish this, and to keep these workshops low cost or free for these largely volunteer-run camps, we need to ask for your generous support once again.
Our IndieGogo campaign has kicked off strong but we've got a ways to go before June 21st. Please consider giving your support through a donation. Large or small we'll use it to make a big difference in these young women's lives.

All the best,

PS... did I mention the amazing perks? Signed (!) Patti Smith books, signed Dinosaur Jr and Matmos merch, and copies of Girls to the Front by Sara Marcus.
