I Hate Marijuana

Devin is the dude. I don't think his lyrics are dumb at all. The subject matter might be "dumb" but that's his milieu. His rhymes and verses are clever, likable, engaging, and entertaining. Not sure what else I want from a rapper, really. Gravitas is overrated, and there can also be emotions or ideas in a song about smoking weed and sipping cognac.

yeah, i dig his relaxed vibe and the goofiness. landing gear felt like a step down from waiting to inhale, in quality of the beats and fun/memorable hooks. WTI is top-notch, easy raps, fine production, and comedy. not too familiar w/his earlier albums, but been feeling "anythang" lately, in a depressive kinda funk.

^this is a b-side off of sy's "diamond sea" single/ep, continuing on 90s indie odds/ends

This was very eloquently put and I feel exactly the same way.
