Okay so I'm George, new to the forum (and noise in general)
At them moment the only real noise artists I'm into are Merzbow and Whitehouse. Some of my other favourite styles are No wave, shoegaze and post-punk. Where would be a good place to start in regards to getting into noise?

Hi George. The New Blockaders - Changez les Blockeurs is a beautiful record and essential noise.

Such a broad area, and I reckon you'll pretty quickly find out which bits of it you like best.
Below: not "classic era" noise, but I'm too young to have been buying records when tape trading etc. was at its peak. I got into this stuff later on. Take this as: "I'm not a huge noise listener, but these are things I like".

Ralf Wehowsky & Thomas Korber - Walkuren am Dornenbaum (actually anything with Wehowsky on it, but this is a favourite)

As a bit of a left field "this guy is a moron" pick - we played Michael Pisaro's July Mountain live recently, and when played at volume it came off like a really smart noise piece with added piano. I'm not saying it's a noise record - but if you're getting into noise and finding you like that stuff, maybe try playing July Mountain pretty loud and see how you like it.
I think some Polwechsel. works the same way.
*Not to put his HNW stuff down though. I just struggle with Harsh Noise Walls in general. His tracks are pretty highly regarded among people who do like HNW though. The Clive Henry/ Vomir split was supposed to be very good if HNW is your thing.
