RIP David S. Ware

This happened three days ago, but unless I'm mistaken noone's mentioned it here. So..
I had the great pleasure of seeing him blow twice - sorry to see him go so young, but he'd been in rough health for some time, I think.

I'm a Jazz know-nothing and I know very little of his playing, but Shipp's The Trio Plays Ware (his tunes, but he doesn't play) is among my most played jazz records. Fantastic tunes.

Another sad news (in fact, not so new), did anybody mention John Tchicai's death?

Hell, no - I must have missed that. Double whammy in October, then. Last time I saw him was at Joëlle Léandre's All Star Ayler Bash at Fondation Cartier http://www.paristransatlantic.com/magaz ... ext.html#5

Erm, no thanks.. why don't you post RIP threads here instead so we cavemen can see them, Jon? :) IHM, apart from the occasional driveby post chez Pinnell, is my only contact with "social networks", and I spend enough time here as it is. No Facebook, no Twitter, no TV, no mobile phone.
I had - as it turns out - heard of Bergman's death, but was too busy reading about another Bergman to post about it here. Still, sad.. still another week to go before Halloween - any bets on which other free jazz giant might pop his clogs before then?

Not another free jazz giant, but Terry Callier.
