Avant-Garde Project RIP

Post by cdeupree »

I see the Avant-Garde Project has ended, confirming once again to download something interesting when I see it, not tracking the URL to come back for it later. Anyway, I'm sorry to see it end, there was a lot of great music there. I know there were (are?) some AGP partisans here, many many thanks for all your efforts.

I'm really glad I grabbed most of these as they appeared - but I may have missed some of the last few. I'll be kicking myself if I can't get them.

Either way, loudav... this was an incredible project. Can't thank you enough.

edit: Yow, looks like a lot of these are already missing from the torrent trackers. I'm missing most things from AGP157 on up, but have everything before that. Anyone want to arrange a little swap?

thanks, jon. does anyone know which AGP # was the final installment? pretty sure it was into the 170's. everything up to 157 seems to be at that mirror jon posted, minus the tracks that were taken down at the publisher/composer's request.

edit: it appears Witold Lutoslawski's Preludes and Fugue for 13 Solo Strings, #168, was the final installment.

I grabbed them from torrents over the summer, couldn't find about 4 of the 168. I'm very slowly making my way through them, as well as looking for some of the LPs on ebay. Really incredible project, so much great music there!

Shame they didn't get around to Old Songs Deranged, an LP that still awaits digital "distribution".

Hello

I found out about this about two weeks after the project closed down. With care and perseverance I managed to get all but 4 of the releases. I post here in the hopes that those who have then will reload their torrents so that I and those other leechers waiting for them can complete the collection.

Here is what is missing.

Total Improvisation (AGP69):
Imnprovisation_07.flac

ReR Quarterly 0101 (AGP141):
ReR010101_Steve_Moore.flac
ReR010103_Cutler&Cooper.flac
ReR010104_5uus.flac

Wilhelm Killmayer (AGP60):
Killmayer 01 Juggendzeit.flac
Killmayer 02 Verschuttete Zeichen.flac
Killmayer 03 Uberstethen.flac
Killmayer 04 Im Freien.flac

Harrison Birtwistle I (AGP88):
Birtwistle_1965_Tragoedia.flac

Thanks to all who shared and to those that will.

Suggestions of other places I can post this are most appreciated.

I have found music that I deeply enjoy here and look forward to purchasing more wherever it may be sold.

Here's another mirror: http://avantgardeproject.conus.info/mirror/archive.htm
Everything up to 157 it seems, as with the other mirror.

Same person also hosts an mp3 (192kbps) archive: http://avantgardeproject.conus.info/

Rest in peace AGP, but I'm happy to see it still has an afterlife as well!
