Jim Collins was a project of some young guy in Chicago and his back up band consisted of a few Reckless records employees. That's about all I know. I had a mutual friend who was pals with the drummer, I forgot her first name but her last name was Collins. Don't know if that helps. I never heard the record but I used to see it all the time when I was living in the city and would shop at Reckless. D

i'm spinning the second record of the box as i type. it's really great for people with a fondness for this sort of thing. great price but the vinyl is a bit noisy in spots.

but shit, that Terry ~ Rojvi album is The One. would kill and maim for a copy of that guy. 7 years late story of my life...


i've heard of other connected albums under the name(s): Robin Nicely of Surprise Symphony and Spyder of Magic Island and two titled Cosmic Jazz.

fact or fiction i have no idea.

I have a physical copy of Terry, Collins, Sample and the box set, but I've never even heard the audio of any of these on the list below, save for the brief samples of the two "cosmic jazz" lps on the waxidermy forum.
