Interboro Rhythm Team, Watch The Closing Doors, 1983

Fuckin' love this song, and once spent a whole day walking around NY in the snow in 1986 trying to find a copy (no luck). Just remembered about it yesterday and found an mp3 within two minutes. Damn, that there Internet's a wonderful thing..

Shin'ichi Isohata (guitar)
- duos with Xavier Charles & Michel Henritzi
- improvisations with Gianni Gebbia (sax)

been playing these all day. (along with another one of his with Otomo Yoshihide).
moody, derailed improv, perfect for driving through the city chaos.
not sure if anyone is distributing these. they are available here: http://o-musubi.com/

The Howling WInd "Into the Cryosphere"

Excellent riff based metal with actual atmosphere. I hear a lot of Rorschach in this stuff. I actually find The Howling Wind is more akin to the Rorschach metal-hardcore sound than the black metal it always get referred to. Either way, really really good. It took more than a few listens to connect, but worth the time.

METAMORPHOSIS - Great Babel Gives Birth LP (1983)

Uh, this one is a doozy. Utter minimal confusion. Utter genius, yes.

I'm fascinated.

Was just listening: Joe Foster, Hong Chulki, Takahiro Kawaguchi and Ryu Hankil "Oscillation. Vacillation" - Tough stuff, but moments of remarkable cohesion. Nice.

Is: Bernhard Günter "Then, Silence" - Prettier than I remember.

I really like 'Oscillation Vacillation'. It's my favourite of the discs I've heard from the Seoul musicians (though there's quite a lot I still haven't listened to).
And - though some people may well drop buckets of shit on me for saying so - I prefer it to 'Acts Have Consequences', good though that is too.

Now after a long hard day's work I'm relaxing to Michael Vorfeld and Reinhold Friedl's duo 'Pech' [room 40]

Pech has been an enduring favorite of mine, and Oscillation Vacillation is a newer favorite. Great stuff.
I've most recently had an encouraging first listen to the Karel / Krebs "Falter 1-5" on Cathnor, and am going to dive back into it this afternoon, lots of subtle and interesting stuff at work in it.

I really dig the disc that Friedl + Vorfeld did w/ Bernhard Günter some years back.

and I really really dig "Falter" as well....rich electracoustics there. hope yr second visit gets you deeper.
