Likewise. It seems we've shrunk from 100 to 19.

Sent the payment but it hasn't been accepted yet, hope it didn't sellout already.
Re: kevin drumm
thanks for posting that, 99vadim, looks like i'm in.
Re: kevin drumm
They seriously only pressed 19 copies? What the fuck? Why would anybody ever do that? If it's not a CDR, I thought that wasn't even possible.
Anyway, I got KD's s/t from Jon a little while ago. I have to say I'm baffled by all the silences, although when he actually plays is good.

Re: kevin drumm
According to RYM (btw this is the place where I've found out about this album) it is a CD-R. I'm especially wondering if the album is a kind of mix made up from pieces that didn't make it to various projects or was the material exclusively prepared for KSV release. Strangely enough, I didn't order the album myself - so now I'm counting on some reviews from those who bought it.
Re: kevin drumm
i imagine it is a gathering of loose ends and old tapes. i'm a little surprised there's enough left after the box set, but i'm excited all the same.
following up from the tlasila website, to more KD things on the horizon:
Tom Smith / Kevin Drumm - Reconquer Sleep or Disappear on savage land records sometime in the next week. don't think this will be terribly limited.
KSV 095 Kevin Drumm & Greg Kelley - TBA - probably not any time soon, but almost certainly another micro-edition cdr. i feel like i've heard rumors about it before, but it's a tremendous pairing and they should be making music all over the place.
as to the silences in s/t, that's actually more or less the mode we all expected from KD right up until sheer hellish miasma.

The "silences" inform what gets played and vice versa. Getting baffled is all part of the fun, part of KD's program during that era.Coinage wrote:I got KD's s/t from Jon a little while ago. I have to say I'm baffled by all the silences, although when he actually plays is good.
Re: kevin drumm
This is one of the few collaborations I could imagine that would have worked at any point in KD's career.mudd wrote: KSV 095 Kevin Drumm & Greg Kelley - TBA - probably not any time soon, but almost certainly another micro-edition cdr. i feel like i've heard rumors about it before, but it's a tremendous pairing and they should be making music all over the place.
Re:
Mike, do you know if any of the material from Third was released on the Necro Acoustic set? I'd be curious if this material ever came out amidst his opening up of the archives in recently.mshiflet wrote:and "Third" is better than both of them, but no one will ever know...
Re: kevin drumm
I think MRS has some insight on the "Third" material as well... some of it was incorporated into Imperial Distortion, no?
Re: kevin drumm
Yes, portions of 'Third' were incorporated into Imperial Distortion, where or how I don't know. re: Third, I remember having beers with Shiflet in my car in front of Lemp talking about this record
Re: kevin drumm
btw the new 2cd is indeed a grab bag, guitar synth stuff that was supposed to come out on Mego a decade ago (some appears on the Pica box), hand held tape recordings, shortwave radio and an intercepted phone call
Re: kevin drumm
the Organ track(s) are pretty great. if a bit static.
a good companion to Birchville Cat Motel ~ Gunpowder Temple Of Heaven disc.

thanx
Re: kevin drumm
Well the packaging couldn't be more diy, but after a couple listens this is as hard-hitting as anything on the box, the man's on a mean streak this year. Disc 1, track 4 if you please.
Every bit of this will be up on Kevin's blog shortly if it isn't already.nobye-noaloha wrote:i missed it too...
