AGP168 is a 24-bit, 48 kHz transcription of a lovely recording of Witold Lutoslawski's Preludes and Fugue for 13 Solo Strings, performed by the Warsaw Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, conducted by the composer. This recording was released on LP in 1977 on the Aurora label (AUR 5059) and does not appear ever to have been released on CD. The recording was made by Polskie Nagrania in Warsaw. Other recordings of this remarkable work are available on CD, but only at 16-bit resolution of course, so I figure it's worth making this 24-bit transcription available.

Yes--it doesn't seem to be one of his most celebrated works, but it's one of my favorites--and what a nice, clean recording! Thanks for letting me know you've enjoyed it.polypx wrote:This is beautiful. Thanks Lou.

Besides all this, thanks a lot for the Jacques Duphly's harpsichord music. What a charming music and extraordinary sound ! Just wonderful moments.
