spent the last week boshing up dvd compis with dvd shrink and nero 7.
last one I did was actually recorded from dvd player to recorder on 30th Nov but needed chaptering & menuing. dvd recorder was double referencing so everything had had to be imported through nero anyway.

called it The September Foundry & it consisted of
Chicago Tanglewood '70
Them Crooked Vultures paris '09
God Machine Glastonbury '93
Jane's Addiction Houston Texas '89
Jackson 5 Mexico City '75
Public Image Whistle Test '86
Saccharine Trust University of Connecticut 17/10/84

Everything's been slowed down to at least some degree, although some moreso than others. I used Peak to change both duration and pitch as well as slightly editing some of the tracks to get rid of bits that went overly weird through the process.

It was an interesting experiment, definitely, and I'm glad you're enjoying it.

Ah, awesome.
I was just thinking that source audio and slowing down method could sometimes make weird artefacts and things like that.

Now you got me going through random music looking for interesting qualities to slow down. As if I'd forgotten that it was a fun thing to do!
(the drums in Can's Vitamin C sounds insane slowed down and reverbed the hell out of)
It's a fun break from the normal routine of looking at spectrograms in audiosculpt.

New mix for my colour tape series. This ones the Yellow Tape.
Slowed down rap music, no blends. 59 mins.
Recorded from vinyl to cassette last night/this afternoon.. all tracks are slowed down 20-25% using a Stanton turntable.
60 minute tape. Track 6 'Bang' is the start of the second side.
A few tracks skip (esp. the Smif 'n' wessun one  ) but I left 'em in... Gives a bit of that chopped feeling ... (sort of...)
Comments are Welcome. Enjoy! - Steve

Thanks, glad you like it.

My local museum recently acquired a beautiful Auerbach portrait--my first introduction to his work. It's hung next to an enormous Baselitz portrait--wonderful pairing.

Mix made for another board's annual cd swap.

Hear! Kitaro vs Nmperign - nobody asked for it, but here it is anyway!
Behold! Will Guthrie & Carlos Santana - together at last!
Experience! Slowed down yodelling, japanese popular song of the late 1920's, the sound of bats and more more more!

50ish tracks blended together over the length of a cd.
hope you enjoy...

I made a mix "Hijack, Get Well" for a local zine-- it features local experimental music, mixed and edited as a single track. It's about 70 minutes long, and can be downloaded here:

http://www.mediafire.com/?e1ynmmy2jyt

The track list, and accompanying zine article can be read here:

http://startlingmoniker.wordpress.com/2 ... inernotes/

You can also see the cover art-- a county fair beauty queen who was finally allowed to relax after an hour of smiling for photographers, haha.

Excellent! Haven't gotten all the way through it yet, but I'm really enjoying it so far. Sounds like you spent a lot of time on it too. Can't wait till I get to the slowed down yodelling :o
