Experimental music should be something that suggests a way of organizing your thinking, your attitude toward the world, which suggests that the world could be different.

Eva- Maria Houben: Works For Double Bass

Performer: Hans Eberhard Maldfeld- double bass

' archipelagos and nachtstück allow hearing to take place:

partials are alluded to and unfold,

merging into multifaceted, richly coloured harmonies.

music happens all by itself, seemingly uncomposed –

like the sound of the aeolian harp, its strings set in motion by a passing wind.'

listening to the first disc of this double release (Archipelagos) and it's quite good

The flute is calling lately:

This is just unbelievable. Bridge is just too much. I need to dig in to their catalogue more.

And, props to Korean-German composer Isang Yun. Berlin had a free concert of his works recently from the Yun Gesellschaft but, unfortunately, none of the flute works were performed.

Props to my local CD shop for putting these in the sale bin. Nothing too far out but the flute works are really beautiful and it only reminds that I need to find more traditional Korean music.

Yeah, I even got shot down by the ebay seller in Sao Paolo who got me all the harder to find tropicalia stuff (a spree you thankfully ignited) at regular cost. . .Walter Franco, Buarque, the Tom Ze twofers, etc.

On topic, I've had this for a while and more or less continues to reward. I would however still like to dig into his earlier stuff.
