Recent purchases redux

[Tanner]

First stuff I've purchased in a long while:

Nakamura and Akiyama: Meeting at Offsite Vol. 1 and 2
Seth Nehil and Matt Marble "Eclipses"
OSONE "Passerelle"
Signal Quintet "Yamaguchi"

I have yet to hear any of them, but thought the Offsite ones were long overdue... I was cautious about picking up the Signal Quintet, but I hear it's better than most of the Signal to Noise stuff. We shall see...

cd ordering from

Annette Krebs & Robin Hayward - Sgraffito

David Lacey / Paul Vogel - The British Isles

[bedouin]

nice Die Schachtel promotion for these 3 titles:

Mario Bertonicini "Arpe Eolie"
Pietro Grossi "Musicautomatica"
Enore Zaffiri "Musica per un anno, 1968"

the Enore Zaffiri clip at die-schachtel.com sounds awfully austere and cold, yet the description of the album is very intriguing. Any opinions on these 3 discs?

Also from die-schachtel, Luciano Cilio (DS7) is a good album merging lyrical (well he was from Napoli) with the unexpected.

got these vinyls for free:

tom waits - swordfoshtrombones
bruce springsteen - born in the usa
va - return of the living dead ost

Two great releases. For anyone close to Dublin (or anyone that fancies a weekend in a great city) Lacey and Vogel will play a trio concert with Krebs in October. Looking forward to that one...

Actually I've listened only to the Zaffiri cd. Yes, it's austere, maybe a bit too scientific, but the overall sound isn't too cold I think.
