Interested to know people’s opinions on this stuff…some stunning stuff on ‘em…BUT I can’t help detecting a “fuken gnarly dude” vibe.
Fair enough it’s Rat Club era Throbbing Gristle worship but it seems to have evolved into an area that chimes with much EAI….anyone heard this stuff?
Tell me what to think!
theres a couple of hours of the stuff here http://www.thewire.co.uk/articles/1217/" onclick= "window.open(this.href);return false;

i think i've heard some of those comps too and they were pretty cool. Sick Llama makes some pretty cool and weird music.

It could lead to stagnation in a music scene if no one is giving any negative criticism.bombinthebeehive wrote: so really, whats wrong with a 'fuken gnarly dude' vibe?

fuken gnarly dude vibe scenes are not without internal criticism
"dude you're harshing my mellow"

I haven't heard much stuff on the label, but Heath played my house Fort Sunshine in CT when it was still around a few years back. His music did not give off that vibe whatsoever, so I don't think it's a valid criticism. It was really good stuff, the clarinet stuff he was doing in particular - best set of the night (also played: Graveyards, Lambsbread... not a fan of Lambsbread). Not sure of if this carries over to his label but as a live performer I was impressed. How a person represents themselves in that way doesn't necessarily reflect their music (does La Monte Young's music sound like it comes from a midget biker?)
