This track is absolutely smoking, everytime I listen to this it takes me up. I cant remember why I sold back this CD, I dont think the rest of it was as good as this track.
Re: YSI oop stuff thread.
Here's something sweet, from Studio One. It's the B-side of Delroy Wilson's Dancing Mood 7" single, from 1967. It's a completely different rhythm than the A-side, so it's not a version, and as far as I can tell it's not been available anywhere else (unless it is..?)
The Soul Brothers - More
Formed in late 1965 after the Skatalites broke up, the Soul Brothers studio work was mainly for Studio One:
Jackie Mittoo - Keyboards
Roland Alphonso - Sax
Johnny Moore - Trumpet
Lloyd Brevitt - Bass
Wallin Cameron (guitar)
Bunny Williams (drums)

not sure if that's really OOP, it was never very well distributed. I just sold my last one recently.
anyway, curious what people think of it, I never liked it much.

I never cared for it at all either. I was excited to hear it initially, but in the end they didn't end up doing anything more interesting with those instruments then the futurists had. Perhaps it is an inherent limitation to those noise makers.

I think not too many people got the occasion to hear this though...

You were right, the thing is in print, so I took the link down. Not that I recommend anybody buying it though ...
sorry about that

If anybody wants to download this one two times - here's link again:

(320 kbps)
(I just couldn't decide where the link is placed more appropriately - here, or in the "AMM on BBC"-thread)

Zulu Songs from South Africa (Lyrichord)
recorded in 1982, but released in 1987, it is relatively new. which means it's very well recorded and has the musicians listed (the tracks are tagged accordingly). if there is a demand i can also provide the english translations and explanations for each track (i just have to retype it all, because i don't have a scanner and i am lazy). i bought mine sealed at mondo kim's in 2006, but right now it seems to be unavailable, at least online, so here it goes. one of the most immediately enjoyable african folk music collections i heard.

Re: YSI oop stuff thread.
can someone post some of the oop stuff from the marchetti thread? i'm intrigued.
Re: YSI oop stuff thread.
which are you particularly curious about that you can't buy anymore? I've never got a clue what's still in print or not but I've got a reasonable amount of Marchetti.
