Recently, I've come across a few interesting documentaries and the likes about the global crisis, I thought I'd share them.


Richard Wolff, 'Capitalism Hits the Fan':

(if you are put off by his solution, that reeks a bit of marxism (cooperations), the difference is that these cooperations aren't state run/owned; and aside from that he still has plenty of other interesting things to say)

1.5 hour movie on animal rights, quite brutal, but a must see. (Narrated by Joachim Phoenix.)

(this one, and especially the notion of speciesism, which is explained in the first 10 minutes, actually made me become, after years of a low on meat diet, fully vegetarian.)

The Wolff and Rifkin ones look pretty interesting, thanx for sharing. Just saw this one the other day (light and funny, but also bluntly and succintly trve), 6 minutes on the Spain real-estate bubble/financial crisis. It should have English subtitles (press CC button).

I saw part of the Wolff video too. It was pretty good, not too hard to understand what his points were like some of the lectures at a Marxism conference I went to a couple of weeks ago.
