i went to an indie show tonight

ok so i was just wondering what people thought about indie rock culture. personally speaking, i think the music kinda sucks ass, but not totally, but the people who go to indie shows are good people. i thought i was pretty much a die hard indie rock fan up to now, but my musical tastes have changed for the better i believe. i still think what they have going on is pretty interesting. i wish i could've gone into the show but i didn't have my id with me. it probably would've been a grand old time though, but i feel like there's this weird hiearchy of power going on with that, not to trash them or anything. i guess the main thing is that, maybe in the back of my mind, I thought my ex girlfriend would be there. I did see her friend tho outside talking to someone.

Define "Indie Rock" in terms of sound, please.

Hard one, innit? I think so, anyway...

I like (and hate) a lot of "Indie Rock" music, though... Funny thing is, I think a lot of people that would call themselves "Indie" are usually pretentious douches... So I'm kind of the opposite in that I enjoy the music, but not a lot of the (stereotypical) personalities.

Indie was the soundtrack to my teenage years and I still like a lot of the more post-punk influence bands but, thanks to the likes of Coldplay, it's turned into ropey Dad-rock recently...

wow did indie rock die today? i mean independent music is being made all around the world and of course in the states, but well, hopefully you know what i'm talking about...can anyone name one indie rock band on pitchfork? most of the bands listed there now aren't really old school indie rock which saddens me

(with the one exception being pavement who are scheduled to be reunited and playing in new york next year...)
