care to elaborate on the 'meaning' - that is, if you had a specific one in mind.

sure. theres not a fast, hard meaning to it

it was inspired by my first trip to portland earlier this year. fell in love w/ the city & met some really nice people. i had an absolutely fantastic trip in the span of 4 days, really. so part of it is a dedication in that sense.

the tattoo itself was actually inspired by a stamp that i got @ the first annual march into darkness - a local stoner/doom festival in portland that weekend. i liked the stamp a lot & thought it would work as a tattoo - even though my finished product looks absolutely nothing like the original source material. so thats cool too, i think. so its also linked to this music/art style that ive been enjoying for a while. so it captures this part of my life.

that & im about to embark on a pretty big change in my life (start law school & move across the country from the city ive lived in for the first 22 years of my life), so the skeletons in the boat trying to find their way is somewhat of a metaphor for that

its also tarot & sailor jerry-inspired. i like occult & religious imagery, so it just worked out

like i said, no singular meaning, but it does have meaning for me
