Got a camera about four months ago now. Not had to much of a chance to get out and take pictures but I have uploaded what I could to flickr.

Does anyone know of any good beginner's guides for editing photos in photoshop? I was hoping to try increasing the blue and sharper up the last pic.

Yes, Arturo Bandini, Bukowski's one and only hero, where are you now? I've always been meaning to try one of those other Bandini novels like Wait Until Spring. Have you read anything else Jesse?

While we're at it (on the Black Sparrow Press tip), have you read hash-head Mohammed Mrabet? (Actually, the oral stories as told to Paul Bowles). He was a striking visual artist, and a wild story-teller. I recommend The Beach Cafe, M'Hashish and Love With A Few Hairs.

No but I love Paul Bowles, most underrated American writer ever, Sheltering Sky is one of the 10 best novels i've ever read. His short stories are better than Hemingway

Yeah, Bowles is maybe my single favorite author, the guy I recommend to anyone embarking on discovering new writers below the radar. I strongly prefer his short stories to the novels, though Sheltering Sky is king among the fiction genre of geographically & spiritually dislocated humans (with At Play In The Fields Of The Lord and much of Graham Greene).
