I used to be an astronomy geek as a kid, so these sort of things always get me a little excited. It looks like the weather may even cooperate here, so I may drag the ol scope off to someplace where I can get an eyeful.

No shame here whatsoever. The truth of the matter is that astronomy was a passion until I was about 14 and since then I have only vaguely kept up on it. To be honest I almost wish I had as there has been somewhat of a renaissance in observational astronomy in the last ten years and I think it could have kept my interest more then programming has. Anyway since then, I have checked out the visible comets, eclipse of the moon, gone out for the occasional meteor shower. This is maybe once or twice a year, whereas a real geek would be out every weekend, following websites daily, subscribing to magazines - pretty much how I am about music. I'm still a geek, just not an astronomy geek.
