Holy cow, this is at SFMOMA, in fact they own it, and I've seen it several times. But this past Friday, I was there with Gerardo and my wife, and pointed this piece in particular out to him. Kind of funny you posted it, what a coincidence.Antoine wrote:

Actually, this pic doesnt do the work justice, there are lots of very tiny handwriting (esp in the key on the right) that you cant see and that is quite funny. This is done entirely in pen, ink, and correction fluid! (all the white parts, its all "painted" correction fluid)

This last one (Santo Guerro) is one of the coolest sculptures I've ever seen. The DeYoung and SFMoma rule.

Yes, that Farrow is a great work, I dropped a jaw or two right now. Unfortunately I immediately googled the artist and, well, it would be mindblowing as a one-off. It somehow becomes less so as a strategy.

I don't like it at all. To me it's a mere idea, and one of the open door kind. Way too obvious for my taste, and, most importantly, not even aesthetically pleasing: it's rather dull and actually very coarse, not?
A similar statue dating from the 14th century, using swords, arrows and the likes, now that would be something else. But 2007? Come on.
This, btw, is a kind of opposite work. A modern item, but completely carved out of wood, gothic style. Better, I think, but still not really good. Conceived by Wim Delvoy.
