Buy some easily-available handguns and shoot up a school. Become a Scientologist. Start a YouTube vlog account and enthral the world with daily updates about how bored you are (as did another Huntsville resident, the inexplicably popular 'Boh3m3').

Yargh! I already masturbated... And I don't know if any pools are open.

By the way, I don't have a webcam, but I might actually start a vlog if I did, haha... I hadn't heard of this Huntsvillian you referred to... maybe I should check it out...

Anywho, for the last couple of hours, I've just been listening to music in the dark... Like, totally vegging out, staring at my star field screen saver... And now I'm on IHM. SUCH IS LIFE. :)

Later on in the day (it's 3 am here now) I might try my hand at cooking something with whatever I can find... I'm not so good when it comes to making stuff off the top of my head, but if I find some good recipes for shit we have... like potatoes or rice or something... I could do that! I'm actually kind of excited about it.

EDIT: Now I'm hungry.

Get acquainted with contemporary world events; read about history of contemporary conflicts; go into opinion forums; contemplate commenting; get cussed out of your chair and berated as a result of commenting; read more; get severely depressed; try and shake it off, watch tv; after realizing tv's redundance get more depressed; read more about your country's history; contemplate killing oneself.

OK! not plan A by any means, but it gets ya busy...

A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn might help in this depressing journey in history.

I'm in a similar position as the OP of this thread: no school for the summer, only working a few hours a week, and much more free time than I've had in ages...

I've been getting better acquainted with my local library. I figure that there're more books worth reading than anyone could ever manage to finish - so why not. I'm about 3/4 of the way through Derrida's "Of Grammatology" right now - and while some of the Rousseau stuff goes a little over my head (I've never read ol' Jean-Jacques... might tackle him next), I can spend an hour or so reading and not get that feeling of 'wasted time' that I would had I been channel surfing or vegging out.

I also just got one of those "Magic Bullet's" off TV. I know it's totally lame! But I love it! I've been going through the little cookbook that comes with it, and for a total culinary goon like myself, there's a real feeling of accomplishment in having made dinner when my gf come home from work. :D

here's the basic gist of what you do. you can change up the stuff you add in a bit depending on taste and what you've got handy, and don't really need to use a hand mixer like it says there, assuming you mooosh it all up enough with a masher or a fork or what have you. i never put the green onions or paprika on because i never have them. maybe there should be an I Hate Cooking thread

I too received a "Magic Bullet" but I don't know how suitable it is for the kitchen unless you were to macgyver that shit into some kind of foul mixing utensil. I can't figure out if I'm any less bored or not. In any event, it's made the reality of my boredom hellishly vivid.
