I've been vegetarian for about 15 years now and I can't over emphasize how good flax seed is for you (not only if you're a veggie or a carnivore). Just get some of it ground up and sprinkle it on sandwiches, in soups, in drinks (eh) or whatever (make sure you refrigerate it, as well). Other than tha...

Alright, right now: At Home in the Universe: The Search for the Laws of Self - Organization and Complexity by Stuart Kauffman. I haven't gotten too far into this, but it seems to be a pretty interesting explanation of self organizing priniciples arising out of chaotic systems. The Sculpture of David...

Well, I figured I would probably end up bashing through the names anyway. I just thought any amount of information is helpful when you're trying to do one of these things. It's not like anyone who hears this show will know or care either way. The show is going to be on a community run radio station ...

Thanks everybody. They're definitely helpful (maybe just a little confusing).

I always mix up the spelling on Le Quan Ninh, as well as butchering the pronunciation as I now can see. Hopefully, I'll remember this stuff now. Although, I haven't been too far off on most of the other names.

Help- how do you pronounce these names?

I'm not sure if this is the right room to post this in, so if not, please move. Thanks. Despite sounding uncool and shit, I'm wondering how you pronounce some of these names below. I'm starting a radio show and don't want to sound like a total rube. If any of you could phonetically write out a few o...

I used to listen to a lot of Mainliner and High Rise. I still dig both, but I would recommend Kyoaku no Intention more than either of those, particularly their Astral Projection album on PSF. It's pretty nuts. Munehiro Narita has a solo album I haven't heard, but it's supposed to be pretty cool.

Ataru-- yeah, i definitely see your point on that. I guess what I meant is that labels aren't always the best signifiers for how something sounds (at least to me). Although, death/grind/gore/black have something over just saying something is post hardcore or post rock or, well, noise.

I second the Entombed "Left Hand Path" album. I always figured it was pretty much the epitome of death metal. I'm not a big fan of the genre as a whole, but I dig some of it. Left Hand Path is a great beer drinking album. I've never thought of Repulsion as a death metal band; they always seemed like...

I've been loving Ingar Zach's "Percussion Music" lately. Same with Jon Mueller's solo "what's lost is something important" on Crouton. Both are pretty amazing percussionists.

Does Kill the Client have anything to do with the late and great Employee, Employer from TX? Their stuff was pretty mindblowing, especially the EP, and for some reason I feel like they may have some of the same members....

I really dug the Cremaster Live cdr (totally badass situationist inspired sandpaper packaging! Although maybe they just like that Feederz album) until I spilled beer all over it and ruined it. Well, actually, it skips randomly now, adding a different component to it and somehow makes me feel more pu...
