Re: RIP Maryanne Amacher..

Re: R.I.P Nagisa Oshima..

Itami was in a lot of films...(and directed quite a few as well..Tampopo, The Funeral and Taxing Woman being my favorites.. the weird thing is that my father-in-law went to grade school with Oshima (they were both from old Kyoto families)..but he hated Oshima's films... (politics probably had someth...

Re: how does toshimaru nakamura do it

I'm a broken record with how much I plug equalizers in feedback, but eq is a sure-fire way to tune your feedback. A feedback loop with nothing but a graphic eq is a very easy way to get a cleanish tone, and it's very easy to change the pitch (parametric is even better for this but more $$ - a tone ...

Re: Anyone Dig Boardwalk Empire?

Boardwalk Empire....A friend lent me his DVD's (because he's evangelical about the series..) and I was mostly underwhelmed.. there are these wonderful nuggets of character and story that you wish would become a whole thing but never do.. but then again, I think Frank Harrow is an astonishing creatio...

Re: Getting into No Input with No Money

the easiest way to do no input for very little money is to get a cheap digitech multieffect box.. like one of these: http://www.kraftmusic.com/static/images/shopping/DIGITECH_RP155_PP_sf.jpg (99 bucks...you can still find the 150 floating around for less..) they have stereo outputs (left out into in...

Re: Favorite prepared guitar techniques?

Two questions: 1. Does anyone have any experience with friction mallets working on a guitar? Or just solid metal/glass surfaces? yeah, you can get pretty amazing sounds..(I make them myself with superballs and wood skewers).. rubbing the strings not only excites the strings, but also alters the pit...

Re: can Jason Lescalleet change the world?

One a side note, what artists are not bourgeoisie (as in the economic middle class) nowadays?

dunno about this.. there are plenty of people who do grinding labor and do art to make life bearable..
