He managed to make 100 jars from it? That's the most impressive thing about that project so far.

Re: INSTAL 09 line up so far

First of all, I loved the whole festival. The atmosphere and the whole modus operandi the organizers went for was very nice and friendly, welcoming everyone - and making room for everyone - very admirable and one of the best festivals I've ever been too. The programme was both quite to the point and...

Re: INSTAL 09 line up so far

Looking forward to this. Living right across the pond from Glasgow it proves to be a hard city to get to without using too much money. Also booked me in on the hotel Pinnell mentioned earlier. Sure sounds like a treat http://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g186534-d279796-r4249521-Rennie_Mackinto...

Re: Why aren't there more women involved in this music ?

Your question is valid enough, but answers are probably not to be found in some quick two-liner on a message board. However, while the percentage of women in this field is very low look at other areas of music - I would be willing to go on record and say that contemporary jazz has almost no importan...

Re: help me find OOP stuff

I got a copy of SSSD in Tokyo in September for someone else looking for it (didn't realize you were also, Kevin) at Modern Music, maybe you could inquire with them as to whether they have any more lying around. Yikes. No chance folks at Modern music speak English? of course, with a generic name lik...

Re: Lonely music

To not overly derail, I find the Nijumu albums Keiji Haino did pretty suited for lonely times. If fast sleep is what you're after they're a safe bet. Amazingly Asahito Nanjo thought about issuing a 20CD-set of Nijiumu-sessions he was involved in. Never came to fruiton though. Myself, I quite like t...

Re: Lionel Marchetti

Another improvisation with percussionist Seijiro Murayama provided the raw material for the forthcoming Intransitive release Hatali Atsalei (l’échange des yeux). The title refers to a 19th century American Indian shaman I've had this for a month or so and listened very much to it. I take it that th...

They're notoriously unreliable when it comes to what they have in stock but Forced Exposure has this listed under a wrong name - Aishiyo or something. If you browse by label you should find it.

Re: Forthcoming releases of note

The Art Breaker CD is meant to be their take on grindcore as opposed to Metal Music Machine that was, I don't know, power metal? You can't really trust the release date for most Smalltown stuff though, I think this was supposed to be released over a year ago. That said, I've seen it in local stores ...
