I'm no expert, but looking through the site using Firebug I don't think there is any flash running there, just Javascripts. Modern Wordpress sites are notoriously slow to load, as I have found out myself, often because the servers they are housed on were never intended to be used for such memory-hea...

A bump because this is now in about fifty hours time...

Plus, you can download the concert programme here , or receive a free printed copy if you come along.

Nah, I'm the real winner... I have organised a concert for Thursday evening. If England had got through to a semi final with Germany I'm not sure how much of an audience we'd get.... phew...

I forgot to pick teams for the quarter finals, sorry.

Bloody hell, an England manager with a tactical brain... First he brings in Carroll because the Swedes were shown to be poor in the air defensively in their opening match and He took Gerrard's superb cross perfectly for the first goal. Then, when things are flagging he brings on Theo Walcott who was...

£19 billion worth of taxpayer funded advertising for some of the worst companies in the world.

There are a number of reasons to be ashamed to be British this year. This might be the the biggest of them.

Well, we will take that no problem. A much better performance than I was expecting. Possibly the most disciplined England showing for a good few years. We never looked a big threat, but then we handled a very good French team and a biased referee reasonably well at the same time. If Roy turns them i...

CCCP 4-1 CZE at times the russians play like barca (sans messi) Not really. They were seriously flattered by a way below par Czech side. Its a good job the Czech team didn't bother attacking at all as Arshavin clearly had no intention of defending at any point. Russia should walk this group now but...

I'm surprised I'm the only one who picked the top goal scorer to come from Poland. ;) Lewandowski is a good call, he was on my list but I went for Van Persie. Hard to choose anyone else after the year he had, against all the odds at Arsenal. The Pole could be on his way to Man Utd after the Euros i...

Mikroton just put out a Wastell/Rhodri Davies disc, but that might be some years old also, not sure. It's about six or seven years old, but its a good one. Dan, Mark played a gig in London a few weeks back with Joachim Nordwall and Jonathan McHugh, but an appearance is rare these days. He had a sec...

Seeing as my name has come up: well, your apologia for the aggregate list is fine, as far as it goes, matt- but 1] the wire selects & retains the contributors who make the lists, and 2] some of the lists contributed are not used/tallied [cf.richard pinnell last year, for example]. If my contribution...

Thanks all Slightly shocked and overwhelmed by the response... All discs ordered before 5pm on Wednesday went into the post on Thursday morning. I was away at the weekend so all other orders will go out tomorrow. There have been postal strikes in the UK over the past few days anyway so nothing would...
