Re: Radu Malfatti
Listen/Hear by Nicra is another great early Radu LP: Nick Evans, trombone; Radu Malfatti, trombone; Keith Tippett, piano; Buschi Niebergall, bass; Makaya Ntshoko, drums. For the curious, i found this here http://restinbits.blogspot.com/2009/06/nicra-listen-hear-lp-rip-out-of-print.html Didn't expec...

Re: John Cage
Always loved "Prelude to mediation" on Hat, one of the first Cage records i bought. I only know the cartridge Music with Tudor, Kosugi and Pugliese on Mode, but i really love it. Is the RZ better? Other faves of mine: All the number pieces on Hat Hut, the 58 with winds is great, and the Two4/two6/fi...

Re: kevin drumm
A few words: Particles and smears is really typical of Drumm from this era. The guy always liked to fuck with peoples expectations (his own words), hence the constant surprises and frustration: Oooh, what a nice sound....oh no it's gone. As far as i'm concerned, i've always loved this approach (i mi...

Re: most Psychedelic record?
would be interested in hearing what the others were, since I think I'll be picking up several of the titles from this thread. have this particular title already, 2x in fact since it was remastered a couple of years back. Taking into account what jon said, which broadens the spectrum, here's some ot...

Re: Morton Feldman
Thanks Bedouin, definitely would like to hear this one. About the Hildegard Kleeb on Hat Art, i couldn'find my way into her "For Bunita Marcus" reading, not after having heard Tilbury anyway. I found it a bit dull and lacking the latter's subtilities (pace variations, touch). But maybe i'm too biase...

Re: Morton Feldman
Love trio as well, but i'm not sure i want to try another one, the Hat Art is really nice. It is, but I like the more leisurely pace of this new one too. What's wrong with Takahashi by the way? He seems to be rather dismissed around here, but he had a very close relashionship with Cage and Feldman ...

Re: Morton Feldman
I was wondering if anyone has heard a disk with someone named ronnie lynn patterson on piano with palais de mari and piano(1977) on it. I have never heard of him or the release which is from the nineties but I am interested in it because palais be mari is one of my favorite feldman and this version...

Re: Avatar
"Where the wild things are". I wanted to go and see that with Marie and my son Max, esp since the French title of the book is Max et les Maximonstres . Maybe that's why he said he wasn't interested (he's 11). So we went to Avatar instead. It was that or The Road (hahaha).. It's a shame, you should ...

Dan, Saw it in Paris this week end, i confirm: no batteries in my 3d glasses...I had a great time, it's a pretty good disney fairy tale imo, a pity that they didn't put the same energy to write us a more original scenario that they put in the special effects and 3d. For me though, as far as christma...

Re: Recent Acquisitions
Do you know the work of Pascal Battus? he's been doing a guitar pick-ups only project for some years now, he has released a superb record called pick-up on the Amor Fati label (France). He's an awesome guy, you should check it out, really raw and uncompromisingorangettecoleman wrote:the no string guitar.
