Winter Campaign 2012 will take place in four segments. Below are the dates for the first, westward segment. Dates for northward, southward, and internal segments (including NYC & Phila) coming soon. don't listen to the tzadik cd, though Why do you say that Corey? I normally dislike the production and quality of performances on most tzadik disc's but both of Mary Anne's discs are pretty great. The first one especially represents her pretty well. The first track on Sound Character's at loud volu...

n the second one, andrea played some very nice quasi-melodies, plucking a note and then fading it in on her mixer for an ebow kind of tone. One thing that should be mentioned that I think really made the set special (for me at least) was when Bonnie and Andrea started singing a traditional Appalach...

This is easily my favorite radio show of all times. Looking forward to more episodes! Will this be updated monthly?

Play lists would be nice for reference.

I'm wondering if the (to me) relatively high prices of improv CDs turns people off and drives them to illegal downloads and eBay. High prices might be a factor with this but I think people tend to go for illegal downloads because they can. It's to easy to just click and listen and with almost no le...

I'm thinking they (CD prices for the music we like) are low. Demand is incredibly low. I don't see how we can compare the prices of experimental music with pop music. I'm with Joe on this. On top of demand you have to keep in mind that the cost of production is not cheap, even with CD-R releases. L...

Any chance you can post what compositions are going to be played?

The Studiotoolz website (http://www.studiotoolz.net/) is a good place to search for free mac software. Just search "Granular" and you'll get plenty of results.

Ive always been happy with lloopp/ppooll (http://ppooll.klingt.org/index.php/Main_Page) for my granular needs.

I found this video (http://tinyurl.com/yarmavd) interview with Peter the other day while digging around the web. It's close to an hour long, covering a lot of grounds such as his collaborations, composing methods, running Mego, etc. Definitely worth watching if you're a fan.

bump! Tonight!

If you missed Sons of God last time they were in Philadelphia, or at the No Fun Festival, you may have heard bemused and be-wondered tales of their theatrical, ritualistic movements and scenes, set to b...

I recommend "Home Recording Made Easy: professional recordings on a demo budget" (http://www.amazon.com/Home-Recording-Made-Easy-Professional/dp/1860743501). It's kind of like the recording for dummies but it's rather thorough and I found it useful when I first got into home recording. There is also...

Sorry I haven't downloaded the Sarcasm Application for my computer yet

Lukewarm? Am I missing something? Looks like Pinnell enjoyed this CD very much.

i actually quite liked the recording, the one time i heard it, which contrasted with the live performance in being surprisingly FULL Are you saying that the recording was full? I thought the opposite. When we saw him we were sitting less then 10 feet away from Charles. It was very intimate and made...

could someone verify what i think i have read - that the zoom h4 only actually records two tracks at a time? that seems to be what the marketing materials say, but i wanted to see if anyone who owns one could comment. also, if not, does anyone know a good portable recorder that allows simultaneous ...
