Arvo Zylo's recordings / talents run the range from truly overwhelming, confrontational / chilling harsh noise, to thought-provoking experimental sounds rooted in the 1980s Raplh/LAFMS/post-TG international "noise boom." ..... .... Arvo guarantees provocative listening, and the "catchy" or more-eas...

Remember when I was asking people why they listened to noise? Well the article is finally published. I originally wrote about 3 times as much and 3 different copy editors smoothed it over into some kind of strangely gleeful pedestrian sheen, but it is here. There are plenty of things I can pick apar...

The article is done. Thanks to everybody who contributed to the conversation.

At this point I am looking for scientific/psyiological effects of sounds, especially sustained ones, as they relate to music or noise, but especially noise. If anyone has anything to share on that I would appreciate it.

I can listen all day as long as it's before 10pm and after 10am, that is my guideline in my apartment... To answer the question asked in the thread title - I listen to it because I think I ought to and because people send things my way.. I've never actually bought a noise album in my life (!) (unles...

"unavoidable physical phenomenon" is what I'm looking for. I'm not trying to split hairs about noise and music, I understand what people are saying, but why? I want to quote people as to why. My personal opinion is that noise is different from music and some things that are considered noise are more...

I've read someone say that they worked at a record store for several years (not Ron) and most people who bought noise/experimental stuff were with a group, just kind of hyping the new thing. This applies to anyone who listens to PE, Noise, Drone, and other such "Non Music". I don't care about concep...

I wrote this cover story about paranormal researcher/sound artist Michael Esposito, his collaborations with FM Einheit, Brent Gutzeit, John Duncan, Z'ev, Leif Elggren, and CM Von Hausswolff are mentioned..... http://newcity.com/2011/10/26/voices-in-the-emptiness-michael-esposito-listens-carefully-to...

There will be a live collaboration between Michael Esposito and J. Soliday on the Delirious Insomniac Freeform Radio Show. Michael Esposito is a world renowned experimental artist and researcher of Electronic Voice Phenomena (he uses them in his recordings). J. Soliday is probably Chicago's foremost...

From Alain Neffe (Bene Gesserit) "this is a damned good program going slowly from noisy music to musical weird songs and experimental or minimal new wave (so you may skip the part you do not like and measure your degree of tolerance) ….cleverly made and beautiful" I have fixed paypal buttons, they h...

Very happy to have "Delirious Music For Delirious People" featured on Nightmare City! This guy is completely obsessed with Halloween and Monster Music, and has been for several years. He makes catalogs documenting scary music, and it is by far the most comprehensive I have ever seen. http://nch01.fo...

The digipaks are in, they look great, and they are ready to ship.

Host Arvo Fingers uses his lengthy experience as a sleepless madman...

I haven't seen anyone mention 905 tapes. I've probably bought tapes from them on the most regular basis of all of the labels I know. The roster is diverse and the quality of dubbing is solid. http://www.905tapes.com/ I'd also like to know where other people promote cassettes other than the yahoogrou...

I have been thoroughly enjoying this blog, I even linked to it on my radio show's page.
And I'm not really a blog person these days. Good stuff.

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Jc0JerDibCA/SnZAKeJPMEI/AAAAAAAABP4/Rv9kxESshTM/S240/gro.jpg I thought I would start a thread for my radio show. I would like to receive more potential airplay material, especially from other countries. The Delirious Insomniac Freeform Radio Show is on Monday nights at Mid...
