Re: German-style Board Games
QUARTO (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quarto_%28board_game%29) is a very good and entertaining "german style" (whatever that means) 2 player game.

Re: World Cup 2010
The Paraguay / Spain quarter-final had Paraguay playing their best match of the tournment and Spain their worst. As you said, it could have easily gone either way - and there were bad calls for both sides on that game. But in the end, the best Paraguay did not go through the worst Spain. Not wanting...

Re: World Cup 2010
Since Germany's first game on the group stage (and I commented on that here) I have been saying to all around me that Germany will win the cup. And since the end of the group stage that I have been saying that the final will most likely be Germany against Netherlands. I'm closer to both predictions ...

Re: World Cup 2010
Seriously though , watch out for North Korea Or not  I know they completely cracked on the second half but who could predict such a score. Lets see how the game with Brazil on Friday is going to be - both teams will most likely play for the draw and if anyone wins it may just be pure luck...

Re: World Cup 2010
Sure Australia is weak and seemed completely lost during the match, but it was nice to see a team (Germany) playing some football for the first time in the tournment. Up to now all teams seemed so weak and even though Argentina vs Nigeria was entertaining to watch we hadn't seen any real football: t...

Re: World Cup 2010
Portugal will most probably go through the group stage not because of some great football - but simply because their opponents will be no match for them. I can agree on this. Even Brazil is not in top shape and can be beaten by Portugal (which has happened in the past, including on the 1966 world c...

Re: World Cup 2010
Portugal seems to have very little chance to advance past the round of 16 anyway, brutal draw for them. Why do you say that? You're assuming that Portugal will finish second in his group and will meet Spain (which you're assuming will finish first on the H group) on the round of 16? Just asking.......

ESQUILO online shop - shutting down SALE
(since the word is out somewhere else on the forum, here is the official announcement) SHUTTING DOWN SALE After almost 3 months without selling a single CD from the labels we distribute / sell on our website it is now time to regrettably make the decision we have been postponing for about a year: we...

god, why does he mix his vocals SO loud? i remember having the same issue with the bits of the last album i heard too. Though I like the overall of Sylvian's output, the first thing that came to mind when listening to both "Blemish" and the excerpts of "Manafon" was that same question exactly....wh...

Re: Amplified Gesture
I wonder who will actually buy the DVD, with a price tag of $85 (plus shipping) for the special edition. I sure won't. If the one of the objectives of the DVD was to create some awareness of this music for listeners outside of it - the edition will fall short of that because few will be able to affo...

So, are you saying that Barton Fink wasn't really a comedy......Dan Warburton wrote: The only Coen comedy I really like is Lebowski - though of course there are hilarious moments in their bleakest films. No Country For Old Men excepted, perhaps.

Temps du Loup had a nice ending to it) I was wondering about this movie, nobody has even mentioned it until now, I've got it queued up, its some kind of sci-fi fantasy thing, I gather? I was wondering myself why wasn't this film mentioned. It's one of the most annoying (not to say worst) films I've...

Re: recommendations for portable .wav/.mp3 recorders?
I think esquilo is mistaken in thinking that the frequency response of the internal mics is 70 Hz - 20 Khz. That is the frequency response of the built in speakers. Although I haven't seen anywhere what they state as the frequency response of the mics so I don't know for sure... The mics are a litt...
