I've just posted an 18 minute track on Soundcloud featuring seven 'extracts from the workbench', i.e. pieces that I've been working on for future Another Timbre releases. I haven't identified what's what or who's playing etc as wherever possible I like things to be heard fresh and without preconcept...

I'm afraid you're not the Wizard of Oz either, Dan.
By the way, seeing that you're in Paris, do you know Melaine Dalibert's music at all? It's well worth the effort x

Rather than use my own poor quality selling skills, I'll leave it to Brian Olewnick, the wise old man of eai, to tell you how good the new Another Timbre CDs are: "Simon Reynell's Another Timbre label has been on quite a creative and successful roll lately and the newest batch of five releases conti...

Just bumping this because the sale has just two days to go. We've sold over 1500 discs so far, which is great and goes a long way to securing the label's future for the next couple of years. Thanks to anyone who's ordered. Also the first review of one of the new releases: The Guardian on the d'Angio...

Forgot to announce this here earlier, but there are still 10 days left of the Another Timbre sale (which is a rare event). 33% off just about everything (even the new discs are starting out at a reduced price), and a special offer of 10 discs for £50. More details at the label website: http://www.an...

The programme is being broadcast on resonance FM again this Thursday evening (9pm UK time), so you can hear it then online at http://resonancefm.com/ - or else simply listen whenever suits you to the podcast from last week - http://www.thewire.co.uk/audio/on-air/adventures-in-sound-and-music-24-sept...

The Wire's 'Adventures in Sound' programme on Resonance FM this week was a long interview with me about Another Timbre and the shift in the label's focus over recent years. The playlist for the programme included music by: AMM, Laurence Crane, Jurg Frey, Magnus Granberg, Derek Bailey, Linda Catlin S...

Fantastic review of Grizzana by Nick Cain in The Wire: “Sheffield label Another Timbre is enjoying a bumper 2015, with John Tilbury and Philip Thomas’s marvelous double set of Morton Feldman’s piano works followed by a succession of standout releases from Frank Denyer, Common Objects, Magnus Granber...

Three new CDs on Another Timbre now available - and they're all really beautiful imo: at86x2 double CD Jurg Frey 'Grizzana and other pieces 2009-2014' played by Ensemble Grizzana, who are Jurg himself (clarinet), Ryoko Akama (organ & electronics), Mira Benjamin (violin), Richard Craig (flute), Emma ...

First review of the Feldman double CD is a 5-star review in The Guardian by Andrew Clements: http://www.theguardian.com/music/2014/dec/03/feldman-two-pianos-and-other-pieces-review-thomas-tilbury "Feldman: Two Pianos and Other Pieces CD review – transcendently beautiful Though the last 10 years has ...

Hi Dan, I haven't heard from you in ages. Yes, the point (though it's a rather flippant one) is to challenge the bullshit that arises around the fetishisation of individuals in the star system. Of course no-one will be able to tell which piano is John on more than a couple of the tracks. As I said b...

So I'll extend the challenge I posted earlier on Facebook: anyone who can successfully identify which piano John Tilbury is playing on the eight tracks for 2 or more pianos on the new Feldman 'Two Pianos' CD can have £200 worth of CDs. Email your answers to info(at)anothertimbre(dot)com: right or le...

Squidco are our US distributors. They carry the entire Another Timbre catalogue and do a good job. They were late ordering the latest releases, but I posted the new ones (including the Laurence Crane double CD) off to them a few days ago, so they should be stateside very soon. http://www.squidco.com...
