I don't think you *necessarily* need advanced math to use the techniques. There are many objects or patches for MaxMSP for example that allow you to play with stochastic processes without having to understand the maths behind them. As far as improvisation with the techniques, I don't know of anyone ...

I love your AGP releases... but I'm also not a fan of the torrent method. I also think it'd be easier if you did an RSS feed from your own site, so I could subsribe there rather than randomly checking IHM every so often.

I got a Sony PCM-D50 last summer, and although it's a bit more expensive (nearer $500), the quality I've been getting from it is incredible. I had never heard of Ulpiu Vlad before, but this is astonishingly beautiful music. I love it. It has an organic quality that puts me in mind of Crumb or Scelsi, although I'd hesitate to say he sounds like either of those composers in particular.
