Odwalla - Minotauro (CMC). Percussion ensemble from Italy. The CD is OOP, though.

Beaver Harris - African Drums (Owl / Universal). Great solo drums record. Very energetic.

Gunter Sommer - Sächsische Schatulle (Intakt).

Something by Kodo would work too, I guess.

Beautiful work, if a bit too long.

I still have to hear anything better than Death's "Individual Thought Patterns". Other favorites include Atheist's "Unquestionable Presence", Death's "Sound of Perseverance", Anata's "The Conductor's Departure" and Gorod's "Leading Vision". I also find Decapitated good but rather formulaic.

Probably the most overrated for me was motubachii. I enjoyed listening to it but it wasn't as interesting as all the hype suggested. Also, everyone seems to be talking about Michael Pisaro this year. I tried listening to two of his records, but the music was simply too boring to carry my attention....

Just listened to my first purchase of 2011: Buxtehude organ works performed by Rainer Oster (on Arte Nove). Excellent performance, good organ sound. Dirt-cheap from amazon.co.uk too. Very pleased.
