Re: Fantasy Baseball

It was intentionally lame - and I'm glad you picked up on it Jon.

You're gracious re-welcoming is duly noted. I accept your welcome!

Re: MLB 2009

Ahhh it's nice having the Joshy-Josh of old this year (at least so far) - 10 Ks in 7 innings! Hooray!

Re: Fantasy Baseball

I just drafted two teams today (my first foray into FBB) and my teams are in 2nd and 3rd place - one team because I only had Red Sox pitching (natch) today (14Ks though!) and the other team had only 1 frickin' RBI and tanked offensively. I demolished with the pitching. My WHIP is tops in both teams,...

Re: NFL 2008-2009

Shit!! I like Simms, especially after he got fucked over by that cock gobbler Chuckie, so maybe I'll have to ultimately root for Darth Hoodie (thank God gentle giant and the rest of teh ghey JC dweebs don't post here to see that potential massive humiliation). Just think, it could be much much much...

Re: MLB 2008

Noj, you still happy with Maddux on your team? I know he's a "vet" but doesn't he look like a ka-put vet? Got pretty beat up today... Byrd pitched to Toronto as an Indian, and then his next two starts were against them as a Red Sox. ESPN said it's the first time since 2004 someone started three game...

Re: MLB 2008

Did you see Bay's double that rolled along the top of the fence from Tuesday, Jon? Also ridiculous. Sort of an encore for that one earlier in the season that just stayed on the top of the fence.

Re: MLB 2008

Evan Longoria is just ridiculous. he had an AB tonight against Betancourt where he hit two massive foul HRs, then he hit one fair, like he was taking batting practice up there. Yeah I saw that the other night (Tuesday, right?) on SportCenter. I told my buddy "That pitcher must feel like an asshole!...

Re: MLB 2008

Just to add to Noj about Dodger "fans" - I'd put it more as "people in the stands watching the game and fans." My girlfriend is the former. She is about to join a very prominent law firm after her last year at grad school, and while she's doing her summer-intern-ish time with them, they're taking he...

Re: MLB 2008

Maybe I'll start going to a few Dodger games now.

How's Bay's defense? I never watch the Pirates (does anybody?) his OBP/slugging isn't that far behind Manny's so I'm not terribly upset. Thanks for the 7 1/2 years, Manny!

Re: NBA 2008 offseason

Yay! I love the trade. Artest already making some "ghetto" comments, but otherwise, a great pickup for the Rockets. Gonna be a fun year with my Rockets & C's.

Noj/Bo - let's play some frickin' ball!

Re: MLB 2008

Yeah Joba looked better, but Beckett did more than ok. Pitched out of some stuff when he had to, which is what he normally does. I'm not sure if he's still going through back problems, but he hasn't looked the same this year.

Alright, let's avoid the fucking sweep tonight. Lester FTW!

Re: MLB 2008

Can't see how Gentle Giant doesn't like Wakefield...From the preview: "Boston starter Tim Wakefield (6-7, 3.69) has been pitching excellent ball since the start of June, compiling a 2.60 ERA and lasting beyond the sixth inning in each of his last nine starts, although he has only a 3-3 record in tha...

Re: MLB 2008

Great pitching from both sides last night. The only run came off a shitty little squibbler from Gi-ahm-bi with the shift in gear. Joba looked very very good, but so did Beckett. I'm happy all-around, as I love a great pitching duel more than anything. Just wish we could've taken it from the Yanks' b...

Re: MLB 2008

Yeah I've seen Ziegler pitch a bit. Big A's fan at my work on the weekends... Submariners are hard to pick up and since no one knows him, not much of a scouting report. I hope he can keep it up (except against Boston) but I don't think so...perhaps. His stuff wasn't *that* impressive - just a hard p...

Re: MLB 2008

Yeah, it was Seattle, but anything on the road this year: I will take it. Normally it'd be "Fucking christ! I can't believe we lost to the Mariners!" Masterson did what he had to. I'm mostly worried about Cano this weekend. Apparently during the AS break he went home and his dad fixed his swing and ...

Re: MLB 2008

And Masterson last night sat down all 8 batters he faced. Came in with two on, 1 out - Struck out both guys he faced to get out of it and then pitched 2 perfect innings after that - 20 strikes on 27 pitches. Very nice outing.
