Repress of this, I guess unauthorized, it seems to be trickling out to a few distributors. I'm happy, it's been on the top of my want list for ages.

Re: What other sites/forums are good for discussing this mus

http://noise.as/forum/index.php It's purrrty neat! Bit sparse on the New Zealand section, tho' nice I guess to have a New Zealand section. Proportionate to our population presumably :D Glad people still care :D It would be good if we could get some more contributions to the NZ part of the noise.as ...

Re: Managing large collections

I suspect that this decision may run into a wall when the size of the collection exceeds the size of a single hard drive, but hopefully I have a couple of years yet. You should be able to store your collection over a couple of hard disks with no problems; I used to do that before the advent of chea...

Unreleased live Takayanagi..Box set.. http://www.japanimprov.com/indies/jinya/archive1.html Oh, I was just going to post something about this, PFS/Modern Music have it available for pre-order in Japan, with a bonus DVD included. A little bit of info here . I imagine if you emailed them, they'd let ...

Re: US declares public health emergency for swine flu...

actually the Merzbow thing wouldn't surprise me, the Japanese go crazy about this kind of thing. Yeah, as Jon said. The Govt here gets really excited about this kind of thing, and basically builds up a panic-type situation. For the inbound planes from various potential trouble spots they have healt...

Not this one is it? http://www.711net.jp/prd/9024/187/000B450/4582223930655-0.JPG How do you find Shochu in comparison to Soju? Is it the same? I only had the latter a few times in Korea years ago, but it didn't really agree with me back then...Jinro's fairly common over here, and we have a few Kore...

Sounds good - can you give any more details on this one - brand name or brewery, or anything?

Re: US declares public health emergency for swine flu...

Tamiflu is a very effective anti-viral. I read somewhere yesterday that in Japan, it's evidently led to many kids who have taken it to jump off their balconies Yeah, it's been linked to a number of suicides over here...there seems to be a pretty strong belief that it causes psychosis in kids/teens....

I usually favour mugi (barley) varieties, but it seems there are so many different breweries in the south & west of Japan producing "high-end" shochu nowadays, you're alwa...

Re: Drinking 2009

But its got to be Bombay Sapphire, that's one thing I did pick up from my dad. As a major martini fan, I find Bombay a bit too fruity, or too botanical. Tanqueray's my favourite, though it often proves a bit too austere for first-time martini drinkers, at least as I mix them. I had the chance to vi...

Now, if there's a desire to discuss garage-like / -indebted New Zealand bands of the 1980s --The Max Bloch, The Victor Dimisich Band, The Terminals, Scorched Earth Policy etc. -- that's another story altogether... you have piqued my interest go on... Re: Recent purchases redux

In the last few weeks, feeling a bit minimalist recently I'd welcome your opinions on any of the three important releases or the two emeralds splits... Not really a huge amount to say - if you've heard any of the Emeralds or Eleh releases, you'll know what to expect. It's all fairly heavy, dense dr...

Re: Taku Sugimoto

Yes does Sugimoto have a brother? What does adding the "ya" to the end of a name mean? It's a common suffix used for male first names, at least for those born in a certain time period. Tatsuya, Tetsuya, Kazuya, Junya, Shinya, Takuya, they're all names you'll find amongst Japanese males born since a...

Re: Taku Sugimoto

Yuko says that Takuya is a real and common name, and the kanji characters are more different than the English names. I don't have anything particularly useful to say other than that Sugimoto is also a very common Japanese surname, that "Takuya" is a popular name for younger males, and that as Jon s...
