Re: Andrew Chalk / Mirror recordings for sale

I forgot about a few more Ora CDs I have which I will add to the list above. I'm also dropping my ask price to $225 (everything plus the three extra CDs) because I'll be on the road come August.

Andrew Chalk / Mirror recordings for sale

Hello everyone, Six months ago I listed some of these CDs for sale for a different purpose. This time I have a roommate bailing on me (he found a girlfriend who he at one point taught, long story), and I'm finding myself a bit short on cash during the gap between him moving out and my new roommate m...

some Andrew Chalk recordings for sale

Hello, my music budget has been a bit tight on cash lately. I have the complete (to late 2007) Faraway Press discography which I would like to sell as a whole (if possible). All these titles are from the standard runs of these albums, except for FP 04, "Senshu", which has a gatefold (not really sure...

My description in February was a reflection of what was available on his myspace. He really doesn't have any typical "songs".

Re: Alistair Crosbie

Well, I made this post an eon ago, but has anyone else picked up on Mr. Crosbie's music? He just released a CD on Basses Frequences, 'Ashenground', which is his darkest yet, characterized by both drones and some darker noise. It's on its way to me from Small Doses. Hopefully he'll be seeing larger d...

Re: "Rock In Opposition"-related music / "avant prog"

I think "zeuhl" is the most original style, but then again it's typically afflicted by the pretentious nature of 70s "prog". The dissonance of Dün's "Eros" is noteworthy, as well as Eskaton (oh how I wish they released their 4th album in whole...).

The circus music of SMM gets old, fast.

If we were to break up, I can imagine "The Silent Corner and the Empty Stage" being played a lot, although I understand that "Over" is his true post-break-up record.

Re: to MP3 or not to MP3?

I think audiophilia should be left to the aging Boomers sitting on their pension checks reminiscing of days when music and life was less complex.

For me, I prefer FLAC but I couldn't consistently differentiate FLAC from a 192kbps LAME mp3. Any lower bitrate I start to notice artifacts.

Re: Audiophilia

I enjoy having time to listen to music, not time to listen to the quality of the music.

If you want (hilarious) criticism of audiophiles and Steve Hoffman fanatics, google Stereo Central.

Re: help me find OOP stuff

If anyone has Keith Fullerton Whitman's tape on Heavy Tapes, "A Bogan Apocalypse", PM me. I can't really afford too much not having a job, but contact me and if you can maybe dub me a tape, maybe we can work out some sort of trade. I just want to hear it, I don't necessarily need the (very nice) pa...

Re: YSI oop stuff thread.

If someone could teach me how to covert an audio CD into an electronic, downloadable file, I could possibly place something somewhere.....though I'm not so certain about the legality of this, so perhaps I'll leave this task alone? You should use the free Exact Audio Copy (or dbpoweramp, which is no...

Re: help me find OOP stuff

I'm looking for earlier Fungal label releases (Darren Tate), mostly his solo stuff. I don't have funds now, but I'd be willing to pay $12 each. I know all are available new, but I cannot afford ransom prices.

Edition Omega Point just issued an unreleased concert by Yoshi Wada from 1987 titled "The Appointed Cloud". Unfortunately I find myself once again without any disposable funds.
