Re: Great free jazz/improvised albums 2005-2015

Sorry for the long list and no comments (!) This thread gave me a chance to revisit some of the music I bought the last 15 years... Even if there is not much new-new, I like these as they tend to be calmer, appreciate silence more, + the recording fidelity is frightening good in comparison! some may...

Re: Does It Matter Whether We Own Music?

Interesting thread :) Culture (print, music, film) is being dematerialised. And there is no going back. There are other forms of distribution and preservation, and there will always be new ones. Vinyl is (for me) the biggest marketing exercise to sell hifi kit and another bunch of the same stuff to ...

Liberté, égalité, fraternité, ++ Mbappé! Bien joué everyone ... i thoroughly enjoyed this one well done to Surfer too though you did miss the score for the final by a loooong mile mate ;-) IMO it was always between the French, Croatia & Belgium, the French won it because of Deschamps, both CRO and B...

In Pole position!!!! yeehaaa
even though Argentina (my favourite team) is a nightmare to watch....

very european this WC, very tactical, very physical,
too much time on the gym to little on the ball - most teams, e.g. Iceland. Nigeria played direct, no frills, and won easily.

Félicia Atkinson - Hand In Hand [Shelter Press, 2017]

this is just incredible from beginning to end.
Last year's "Comme un seul narcisse" was great too, but hand in hand is in a league of its own.

Re: Paris Transatlantic New Search Engine

Your essay on the Wandelweiser sound, the time we all more or less discovered them on this forum was also poetry. (I wish I could find it) Did you mean this one? http://paristransatlantic.com/magazine/monthly2006/07jul_text.html#2 yes that's the one! I'm surprised you wrote it in 2006. I remember m...

Re: Paris Transatlantic New Search Engine

yeah, I meant you as in tu The evolving nature of experimental music means there is little time to revisit older stuff, especially when one is outside the musician or academic circle. I (personally) liked your writing because (a) I was agreeable to your taste -mostly-, and (b) you often managed to f...

It would be interesting to hear what you think / feel of it all, having had some distance for some time. It's like a whole mystery world in there.
Any highlights? Lowlights?

The version of Cage's Four6 on Decentered is one of the best 30 minutes of music I have ever heard.
Close second is the recent Feldman disc.

I'll list my top 5 later.
Nice thread. Never heard Horsky Park
