Re: best of 2013
Posted this earlier today on Facebook, and figured I ought to post it here as well. The big surprise for me was DiSanto, who I hadn't heard of until a month ago; and even then the hype had me VERY skeptical, but goddamn, the record is amazing. I haven't done a 'best of' list in ages, but since there...

Re: RIP Dick Raaijmakers
Thanks for mentioning this Cor. I didn't find out until a few days ago, and while I'm not exactly a fan of Dick's work, his contribution to the magnetic tape medium shouldn't be forgotten.

Re: HOMOPHONI :: Richtlinien für Autorinnen und Autoren
I wanted to add a few additional notes of clarification in English, since I think the general response to this post has been "HUH?" AEU members essentially get a free pass. The reason for this is because it is, in my opinion, the most exciting area of new improvised music and I want HOMOPHONI to ref...

First few attempts at improvising using plexure.js : https://soundcloud.com/dskdskdsk/muppet-christ (this one is silly but maybe my favorite so far) https://soundcloud.com/dskdskdsk/scrt-gdlxxzre-oct1 (the very first try at improvising using the app) https://soundcloud.com/dskdskdsk/script-plexure-o...

plexure.js :: plunderphonic contextual web moocher/masher
plexure.js Here's a little sample romper that I've been tinkering around with. It's super simple, just enter in a word in the textbox, press enter, and you get some sounds to play with (right now pulling from Freesound, but may add others) Some of the key functions : r : clone sample d : delete sam...

Re: Cha'ak'ab Paaxil Fest 2013 | May 16-19 | Merida, MX
Oh wow, a fest in Merida! To anybody in the Southeast US, you should definitely consider going. Flights to Cancun are always cheap (Atlanta to Cancun for less than $300), and then it's a 30 minute luxury bus ride to Merida for $20. Basically, for half the price of going to NYC, you can be in another...

Re: bandcamp threads
i generally have very little interest in promoting myself in the traditional sense, and i hate talking about music when i could be listening, but there is one album in particular that i really feel is my best improvised work (and most representative of pure taomud). also, with so many reviews of cit...

Re: i hate mixers
ALLEN & HEATH! i used a ZED-14 for the AMPLIFY 2011 sound system and it performed marvelously. it's versatile, rugged, and sounds great in a variety of contexts. for example, lescalleet redlined the mixer for an hour and it barely even broke a sweat. toshimaru nakamura pushed it even harder, with dy...

Re: from blit to bliss: the berlin modular story
Thinking of buying Diva while the introductory price is still valid; not sure if Zebra might be a better fit though realistically, considering I'm no analogue obsessive. Diva's a helluva CPU hog I've found, when playing it polyphonically I'm limited to draft mode. I'll try to clock up my 3.4 GHz CP...
